Widows of Hope Network Forum

The Widows of Hope Forum is an initiative of the WFWP Kenya which was triggered by a dire need to empower widows after discovering the challenges the widows go through after loosing their husbands. Some retrogressive cultures and traditions isolates the women and many a times they end up loosing their homes and land due to discrimination. This brings a lot of suffering to the women and their children and so a support system is required to help them in legal affairs , Psycho-social support , moral support and in most cases material support.
The Widows of hope Forum will give them a platform where they can come together as a team , share their experiences and also benefit from the support systems from WFWP and the partners.
On the 15th June 2024 WFWP Kenya held a Forum to introduce this initiative and it was attended by 25 women most of them who are widows , they expressed gratitude for this kind of initiative for them and they registered to be Associate members of the WFWP Kenya. They received the introduction of the WFWP Mission and vision and they also shared their experiences and the hope that they have for their families despite the challenges many of them are facing. They felt so much hope after listening to the vision of the founders of the WFWP and they wish to strengthen the team so that their children can have an opportunity of benefiting from the character education and mentorship from WFWP.
The Next event will be to launch the forum so that it can reach and benefit many widows in the country. WFWP will also be having many forums to educate the children of these widows and orient them towards youth activities and character education programs.
