By: Fabrice Djimadoum

The WFWP Zambia as a way to celebrate Christmas donated 34 buckets of assorted items such as Baby blankets, towels, nappies, jerseys, etc. worth fifteen thousand Kwacha (K15,000.00) on the day of Christmas, December 25, 2023, on a maternity ward in Chipata Level 1 Hospital in Lusaka. A team of WFWP Executive members handed over the donations to seven (7) children's Christmas-born babies including a set of twins in the presence of the Matronne, Mrs. Evelyn Tembo. The other buckets were destined for the babies about to be born.

After handing over the donations, Mrs. Evelyn Tembo thanked WFWP for this gesture which came at the right time to support mothers. She further requested WFWP to continue with good work and support.

Mrs. Annie Chipata said, WFWP has thought of this Hospital as a way to share the little they have. After handing over, the team and the staff of the hospital visited the malnourished children's ward to understand the reality. The person in charge Mrs. Bwalya Mubanga in the ward explained that malnourished children are admitted and fed with local food and any support from well-wishers will be a big plus.

The WFWP Executive was interested and pledged to support these malnourished children by extending the malnourished children's food project in that hospital.
