The Women`s Federation for Word Peace Kenya Chapter organized a program to commemorate the day at the Lampros Educational Center in Kayole, Nairobi Kenya, the children in attendance were 300 in number together with their teachers and main staff. Other participants were leaders from various NGOs and CBOs from around that area.
The goal of visiting the school is for outreach in order to introduce the Vision and mission of the Women`s Federation for World Peace and also introduce our Founders` philosophy of Peace.
Also, the program created a forum for a commemoration of Africa Day, and the children were made aware of their rights. It was also a good occasion to teach the children character Education which they all appreciated. The children had prepared Songs, Poems, and dances to mark the day.
After the speeches the guests and directors of the school received our co- Founder`s Autobiography which was presented by the WFWP Kenya chairperson Dr Susan Kone who also introduced various empowerment programs that the NGO holds at the grassroots.
The children received gift items of snacks and drinks from the WFWP Kenya and in his vote of thanks speech, the director of the school Mr. Marube expressed his gratitude for the Visit to the school and also the gifts.
Follow-up programs of Teaching Family values to the Teachers and staff were discussed and also the plan to teach Character Education and also open a Martial Arts club in the school.
A courtesy call meeting was scheduled for later in the Month. The program ended in a joyous mood and hope in the school.
